Laser prostate surgery

Photo-selective prostate vaporization (PVP), commonly called green laser, is indicated for patients with severe lower urinary tract symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate. This method can also be used to treat patients after other prostate procedures, as well as patients after urinary retention.

Is characterized by:
  • Low invasiveness of the procedure.
  • One-night hospital stay
  • The patient goes home without a catheter (which reduces the risk of urinary tract infection).
  • Very good early and late results
  • Slight risk of intraoperative bleeding and postoperative complications
However, the most important advantage of using a green laser is a significant reduction in the risk of complications such as sexual dysfunction (erection), urinary incontinence or retrograde ejaculation.

Treatments are performed: Michał Jurasz M.D. - Head of the Urology Department and Leszek Niewęgłowski M.D.
